Self Directed Renewal Course of fire This is the recommended minimum course of fire for the CPL renewal applicant The applicant will fire a minimum of 60 rounds Target size: 8.5 x 11 inches ( see our acc-u-check target) Use your “Carry Handgun” and ammunition

For those with handguns that can load more that 6 rounds consider using 6 rounds as a standard load which will require the applicant to practice more operating procedures along with shooting skills. Goal: demonstrate save handgun operation and reliable shot placement . All rounds fired hit the target. 1. 2 hands and using sights Target at 15 ft 12 rounds (6X2) 2. (2) hands and using sights Target at 21 ft 12 rounds (6X2) 3. First shot proficiency and accuracy Goal: find your best reaction time to shoot, hit the target and not compromise safety. From the bench fire one shot at a time at your optimum safe speed. Start slow and be aware of safe operation at all times. Target at 21 ft 12 rounds (6X2)

4. Point Shooting Method and Shout commands Both eyes open Using the target as main reference point not the front sight. Target at 10 ft 12 rounds (3X 4)

5. Strong hand only drill Target at 15 feet 12 rounds (6X2) You should have at least a 90 % hit average
